Tour Plan
Day 1: Nairobi → Samburu National Reserve Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve (360 km). Arrive in time for lunch and check in at your lodge. After lunch, relax before heading out for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight: Samburu Serena Lodge / Elephant Bedroom Camp (Meals: Lunch & Dinner)
Day 2: Full Day in Samburu Spend the entire day exploring Samburu National Reserve, traversed by the Ewaso Nyiro River. Look out for rare northern species such as the Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, and long-necked Gerenuk. Optional visit to a Samburu village for a cultural experience. Dinner and overnight: Samburu Serena Lodge / Ashnil Samburu Camp (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Day 3: Samburu → Aberdares National Park After breakfast, drive south to the Aberdares (220 km) and have lunch at Outspan Hotel, enjoying scenic views of Mt. Kenya and the Chania River. Later, transfer to Treetops Lodge, Kenya’s most iconic game-viewing lodge, overlooking a busy waterhole and salt lick within the Aberdare National Park. Dinner and overnight: Treetops Lodge (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Day 4: Aberdares → Lake Nakuru National Park Early morning transfer to Outspan Hotel for breakfast, then descend into the Great Rift Valley and drive to Lake Nakuru. Arrive for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive in this world-famous bird sanctuary — home to flamingos, pelicans, rhinos, and giraffes. Dinner and overnight: Lake Nakuru Lodge / Mbweha Camp / Sarova Lion Hill Lodge (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Day 5: Lake Nakuru → Masai Mara National Reserve After breakfast, drive across the Great Rift Valley and Loita Plains to the Masai Mara National Reserve (320 km). Arrive in time for lunch at Keekorok Lodge, then enjoy your first evening game drive across the vast Mara plains. Dinner and overnight: Keekorok Lodge / Mara Sopa Lodge (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Day 6: Full Day Masai Mara National Reserve Enjoy an early morning balloon flight followed by a champagne bush breakfast (optional extra) or an early morning game drive. Spend the day exploring the Mara in search of the Big Five — Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, and Rhinos — plus cheetahs, wildebeests, and zebras. Afternoon game drive and relaxation by the lodge pool. Dinner and overnight: Keekorok Lodge / Mara Sopa Lodge (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Day 7: Masai Mara → Nairobi Enjoy a final early morning game drive before breakfast. Check out and depart for Nairobi, arriving around 2:00 PM. Transfer to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)
