Blossom Kenya Safaris: Booking Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as they govern your relationship with Blossom Kenya Safaris and outline the rights, duties, and responsibilities of both parties. By booking a safari with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Booking Confirmation & Payment
A. Deposit:
To secure your reservation, a deposit of the total safari package cost is required upon confirmation.
- 1-Day Excursions: Full payment is required upon booking confirmation.
- 2-5 Day Safaris: 30% deposit of the total cost.
- 6+ Day Safaris/Custom Tours: 40% deposit of the total cost.
B. Final Payment:
The remaining balance is due and payable no later than 45 days prior to the commencement of your safari.
- Late Bookings: Reservations made within 45 days of the safari start date require full payment immediately to confirm the booking.
- Failure to remit the final payment by the due date may result in the automatic cancellation of your booking, with forfeiture of the initial deposit.
C. Payment Methods:
We accept payment via bank/wire transfer or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex).
- Bank Transfers: Clients are responsible for all bank charges, transaction fees, and exchange rate fluctuations incurred during the transfer. The net amount received in our account must match the invoice total.
- Credit Cards: Payments processed by credit card may incur a bank surcharge (typically 3-5%), which must be covered by the client.
2. Cancellation and Refunds
All cancellations must be received by Blossom Kenya Safaris in writing (via email) and will be effective from the date of receipt. Refunds are subject to penalties levied by hotels, lodges, and third-party suppliers.

- Refund Processing: Approved refunds will be processed within 30 days of receiving the written cancellation notice and will be returned to the original payment source.
- Unused Services: No refunds will be issued for any missed meals, activities, or sightseeing tours, nor for any unused services, once the safari has commenced.
3. Alterations and Amendments
A. Changes by the Client:
Any request by the client to amend a confirmed booking (e.g., change of date, accommodation, or itinerary) is subject to availability and may incur an amendment fee of USD 50 per booking, plus any additional charges levied by our suppliers (lodges, airlines, etc.). Changes requested within 45 days of departure may be treated as a cancellation and re-booking.
B. Changes by Blossom Kenya Safaris:
While we strive to adhere to the confirmed itinerary, we reserve the right to modify the itinerary or substitute equivalent accommodation and services if necessary, due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., adverse weather, road conditions, park closures, or lodge overbooking). Should a significant itinerary change be necessary, the client will be notified immediately.
4. Liability & Responsibility
A. Agency Status:
Blossom Kenya Safaris acts solely as an agent for our clients in all matters relating to hotel/lodge accommodation, transport, tour services, and other services. We are not responsible for delays, loss, damage, injury, death, or any other negative incident caused by third-party suppliers or forces outside our control.
B. Force Majeure:
We shall not be liable for failure to perform any part of this contract if the failure is due to Force Majeure, including but not limited to, acts of God, war, civil disturbance, political instability, strikes, fire, or weather conditions. In such events, we will endeavor to offer comparable alternative services, but no refunds will be provided for costs incurred due to these circumstances.
C. Wild Animals:
Clients acknowledge and accept that safaris are ventures into wilderness areas and involve inherent risk. We shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from contact with wild animals, as all precautions are taken to ensure safety within the parks. Clients must follow all instructions given by the driver/guide at all times.
5. Travel Insurance & Documentation
A. Mandatory Insurance:
It is a mandatory condition of booking that the client secures comprehensive Travel and Medical Insurance cover sufficient for the duration of the trip. This insurance must cover, as a minimum:
- Trip cancellation/curtailment.
- Emergency medical expenses and hospitalization.
- Emergency evacuation (including air evacuation from remote areas).
- Loss or damage to personal effects/baggage.
B. Documentation:
Clients are solely responsible for ensuring they possess a valid passport (valid for at least six months after the scheduled return date), necessary visas, health certificates, and other required travel documents. We accept no responsibility or liability for any consequence arising from incorrect or incomplete documentation.
6. Health and Safety
The decision of the company’s driver/guide is final on all matters likely to endanger the safety or well-being of the group. Clients must comply with all local laws and customs. We reserve the right to remove any person from a tour if their behavior is deemed detrimental to the safety or enjoyment of others, with no right to a refund.
7. Governing Law
This contract is governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, and all claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Kenya.
8. Complaints
Any complaint or dissatisfaction should be communicated immediately to your driver/guide or a company representative while on safari for immediate attention and resolution. If the issue is not resolved on site, a formal written complaint must be submitted to Blossom Kenya Safaris within 30 days of the safari completion. We will not be able to address complaints received after this period.
